December 10, 2024

December 10, 2024 – A national multi-family housing developer has completed another community in downtown Nexton.

Woodfield Development has opened The Radler, an upscale multifamily community in downtown Nexton, the planned mixed-use community in Summerville.

Charleston-based Woodfield Development has a long-standing presence in the Carolinas, according to a news release. The Radler marks the developer’s 18th project in South Carolina, adding to over 4,300 units and more than $1 billion in development within the state over the past 15 years.

This new development builds on the recent launch of Woodfield’s first project in Downtown Nexton, The Ames, which opened in July, as well as the completion of Goddard Point Hope in Charleston, according to the release. With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Woodfield is set to soon unveil Flora, a new development within the Carnes Crossroads master-planned community, just two miles from the bustling Nexton area.

“We are excited to unveil our second residential project in the vibrant Downtown Nexton community,” said Mike Schwarz, partner at Woodfield Development, in the release. “The Radler, which translates to ‘cyclist’ in German, represents a dynamic residential community where personal joy flows into a shared sense of movement and energy. We look forward to seeing how The Radler will shape the future of Downtown Nexton.”

Situated on approximately 11.4 acres at 1100 Warburton Road, The Radler consists of 324 apartment residences offering a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 777 to 1,772 square feet, featuring open layouts, 9-foot ceilings, modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, custom built-ins, hardwood-style plank flooring, walk-in closets, in-unit washer/dryer, and private balconies, according to the release.

Amenities include a pool and sundeck, a rooftop sky lounge, a fitness center and outdoor fitness lawn, a spin room, a conference room, co-working spaces, a game room, and a resident lounge.  The pet-friendly community also features a courtyard, gas grills, outdoor dining spaces, a pickleball court, an outdoor amphitheater, a bike barn, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The project team for The Radler included Housing Studio, Seamon WhitesideSHAH Architecture and Interiors, S Wilkins Interior Design, and CF Evans.
